Crop Guard is a targeted 5-species native plant collection designed to recruit nature’s pest managers. Rather than suppressing insects broadly, this collection supports hymenopteran parasitoids who have the ability to naturally regulate pest populations in fruit and vegetable gardens.
All seeds are individually packaged, allowing you to place plants strategically along garden edges, between beds, or in nearby habitat strips where beneficial insects can live year-round.
What’s inside
-
Achillea millefolium (Yarrow) – Flat-topped blooms provide accessible nectar for tiny parasitoids
-
Pycnanthemum tenuifolium (Slender Mountain Mint) – One of the highest insect-traffic natives; sustained nectar flow
-
Solidago nemoralis (Grey Goldenrod) – Late-season support when beneficial insects are often food-limited
-
Taenidia integerrima (Yellow Pimpernel) – Early-season blooms supporting spring emergence of parasitoids
-
Zizia aurea (Golden Alexanders) – Umbel flowers ideal for short-tongued and predatory insects
Designed for balance, not eradication
This collection supports insects that lay eggs in or on common garden pests such as aphids, caterpillars, beetle larvae, and leaf miners, gently keeping populations in check without disrupting pollinators or soil life. It works best as a permanent companion planting system, not a one-season fix.
Seven-generational thinking
Healthy food systems depend on relationships, not controls. By planting species that return each year and sustain beneficial insects across their full life cycles, you create a self-renewing defense that reduces chemical inputs and strengthens resilience over time. The result is a garden that feeds people while honoring the unseen allies that make harvests possible.
Ideal for growers ready to move beyond sprays and toward ecological partnership rooted in patience, observation, and trust in living systems.
